Chuck was born in Palm Springs, CA in 1944 and shortly after moved with his family to Anaconda, MT. Chuck grew up welding with his father. From a young age he was building small utility trailers, fixing logging equipment and heavy machinery and working for the Anaconda Mining Co. In 1968, Chuck moved his family to the Bitterroot Valley to work again with his father, who by then had begun Ravalli Drilling Company. While helping his father drill water wells Chuck was also welding equipment for local loggers and ranchers, and in 1992 created Chuck's Welding, Inc. In 1995, joined by his son Chris, the company became more involved in structural and decorative steel products to accommodate the growing Bitterroot Valley. In 1998, Montana Custom Metals, Inc. was created, and today, Chuck and Chris are doing what they love most- designing and building beautiful decorative, hand crafted steel handrails, custom lighting, fireplace screens and grates and doors. As the company expands, Montana Custom Metal, Inc. remains committed to providing its clients in the U.S. and Canada with finely crafted wrought iron products.
